Biography of Marit Bjørgen

Marit Bjørgen, born on March 21, 1980, in Trondheim, Norway, is a Norwegian cross-country skier and a three-time Olympic champion. She has achieved the greatest number of victories at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where she won five medals, including three golds. Marit Bjørgen was named the "Female Athlete of the Year" in Norway in 2005 and is a four-time world champion in cross-country skiing. She has also won five medals at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in 2010.
