Early Career
Born in Wales, Mark Delaney began his footballing journey as a defender. He initially played for Carmarthen Town, where he captained the team at just 20 years old.
Cardiff City and Aston Villa
In 1998, Delaney joined Cardiff City on a free transfer. He made a total of 35 appearances for the club before being signed by Aston Villa in 1999 for £250,000.

Delaney's tenure at Aston Villa proved to be a significant chapter in his career. He played 193 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals. His notable performances earned him the admiration of fans.
