Biography of Mark Bennett

Mark Bennett is a former professional snooker player from Wales. He turned professional in 1986 after winning the national amateur championship. Throughout his career, Bennett reached the quarter-finals and semi-finals of several ranking tournaments, with his best achievement being the semi-final of the 1996 Grand Prix.

In the 1996 Grand Prix, Bennett defeated Peter Ebdon, Chris Small, Steve Davis, and Tony Drago to reach the semi-finals. However, he lost to Euan Henderson in the final, with a score of 3-6. Although Bennett made it to the final stages of the World Championship three times, he never advanced beyond the last 16.

In 1990, in a match to reach the second round, Bennett narrowly lost to John Parrott in the deciding frame. After leaving professional snooker in 1999, Bennett continued to compete in amateur tournaments and also took up coaching.
