Biography of Marco Fu
Marco Fu is a professional snooker player who was born in Hong Kong and later moved to Vancouver, where he completed his snooker training. He currently resides in the United Kingdom.
Early Career
Fu turned professional in 1998 and made his debut season memorable by reaching the final of the Grand Prix. However, he was defeated by Stephen Lee with a score of 2-9.
Breakthrough Moments
In 2000, Fu achieved a significant milestone by making a maximum break in a match against Ken Doherty. Three years later, he emerged victorious in the Premier League, defeating Mark Williams with a score of 9-5.
Near Miss at the World Championship
In 2006, Fu had a great opportunity to reach the final of the World Championship. However, he couldn't maintain a substantial lead in the match against Peter Ebdon and eventually lost in the deciding frame.
Rise to Success
In the 2007-2008 season, Fu won his first ranking tournament, the Grand Prix. He defeated Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final with a score of 9-6.
