Marshevet Hooker
Marshevet Hooker is an American track and field athlete who competed at the 2008 Olympics. She specializes in the 100-meter and 200-meter distances.
Early Life and Education
Hooker was born in San Antonio, Texas, on September 25, 1984. She attended Southwest HS in San Antonio, where she began her track and field career. After graduating high school, she attended Texas A&M University, where she had a successful collegiate career.
Collegiate Career
In 2004, Hooker won a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Championships. She followed that up with a strong 2005 season, winning the NCAA title in the 100-meter dash, the 100-meter and 200-meter dash at the LJ Invitational, and the NCAA Midwest regional title in the 100-meter dash.
In 2006, Hooker's success continued in the 60-meter dash. She won the NCAA title, the Austin Indoor Challenge, the Texas Relays, and the Reebok Invitational. She also had success in her preferred 100-meter and 200-meter distances.
Post-College Career
After graduating from college in 2007, Hooker began to focus on her professional track and field career. She competes for Adidas Track Club and is coached by Olympian John Drummond. Her agent is Mark Wetmore.
In 2007, Hooker had a strong but not as successful year as 2006. She won a bronze medal in the 60-meter dash at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, a silver medal at the Kingston Invitational, and a gold medal at the Boston Indoor Grand Prix.
Olympic Games
Hooker qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. She finished third in the 200-meter semifinals, but did not advance to the final.

Hooker continues to compete in track and field. She aims to reach her full potential and achieve her goal of winning a medal at a major international competition.
