Born in 1914 to Jacob Jacques Bronfenbrenner, a renowned pathologist, and Masha Ornstein, Martin Bronfenbrenner developed a keen interest in economics at a young age. He earned his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1934 and went on to receive his doctorate from the University of Chicago in 1939.
Academic Career
Bronfenbrenner commenced his academic career at the University of Chicago and subsequently held appointments at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Minnesota, Michigan State University, Carnegie Tech, Aoyama University, and Duke University.
