Beginnings in Uruguayan Football
Campaña honed his skills at Deportivo Maldonado before making his professional debut with Atenas in 2008. After Atenas earned promotion to the Uruguayan Primera División, Campaña moved to Cerro Largo, where he made his top-flight debut in 2009. Notably, Atenas celebrated their first Primera División victory against Cerro Largo.
Rise to Prominence
In the 2011-2012 season, Campaña established himself as a key player for Cerro Largo, helping the club reach the South American Cup for the first time in its history. His impressive performances earned him a move to Defensor Sporting in 2012.
