Early Career
Samuel Vallentin(born 14 January 1987) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. In July 2008, he joined VfB Stuttgartfrom SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
Breakthrough and Injury
Vallentin's breakthrough came at Stuttgart, where he scored his first goal on October 2, 2008, against SV Werder Bremen. However, in the following season, he suffered a severe cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for an extended period. He only featured for Stuttgart's reserve team after his recovery.
Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt
In the summer of 2010, Vallentin joined 1. FC Köln, making his debut on August 15 in the DFB-Pokal against FSV Moselwitz. He scored his first goal for Cologne in the ninth round of the Bundesliga against Hannover 96.
Prior to the 2012/13 season, Vallentin was traded to Eintracht Frankfurtin exchange for Matthias Lehmann. Despite his arrival, he failed to establish himself in Frankfurt's starting lineup over two years.
Cyprus and Retirement
On January 23, 2015, Vallentin moved to Cypriot club APOEL FC. However, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement after only a few months. He made 17 appearances for APOEL before retiring from professional football.
