Martin Wiggemansen

Martin Wiggemansen is a former Dutch footballer who played as a midfielder and forward. Born in Amsterdam on June 7, 1957, he began his footballing journey in the youth ranks of Zeeburgia. His professional debut came in 1975 with Amsterdamsche FC.
Move to Ajax
In the summer of 1980, Wiggemansen made the move to the legendary Ajax Amsterdam for a transfer fee of 350,000 guilders. He made his debut for the club on August 23 in a league match against Roda JC, scoring a goal.
Wiggemansen played in several European Cup matches during his time at Ajax, facing teams like Bayern Munich and Dinamo Tirana. However, despite his contributions, the team failed to advance far in the competition.
Later Career
After a lack of playing time in his second season with Ajax, Wiggemansen moved to Swiss club Lugano in the second division. In the 1983/84 season, he scored 19 goals for the team. In 1984, he returned to the Netherlands to play for PEC Zwolle.
Post-Retirement
Wiggemansen ended his professional career after the 1985/86 season, but continued to play at the amateur level for ZPC and IVV Landsmeer. In December 2003, he assumed the role of team manager at the Ajax youth academy.
Legacy and Involvement
Wiggemansen remains closely associated with Ajax, regularly playing for the club's veteran team, Lucky Ajax. He has contributed to the development of young players through his role at the youth academy.
