Martina Gedeck is a German actress who gained worldwide recognition for her role in the film "The Lives of Others" (2006). She was born on September 14, 1961, in Munich, in the family of entrepreneur Karl-Heinz Gedeck and his wife, artist Helga. Gedeck is the oldest of three sisters.
International Success
After the major success of the film "The Lives of Others" (which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2006, as well as numerous other awards), Martina Gedeck became internationally renowned. Her performance in the film earned her a second nomination for the "Felix" award in her career.
In 2006, she starred in the film "The Good Shepherd" alongside actors such as Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Robert De Niro. She later portrayed Ulrike Meinhof in the film "The Baader Meinhof Complex" (2008), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
