Biography of Mary Elizabeth Donaldson
Mary Elizabeth Donaldson was born on February 5, 1972, in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. She is the wife of the heir to the Danish throne, Crown Prince Frederik, and the daughter-in-law of the ruling Queen of Denmark, Queen Margrethe II.

Early Life and Education
Mary is the youngest of four children born to mathematician John Donaldson and his first wife, Henrietta Donaldson. During her childhood, Mary actively participated in sports and other extracurricular activities in school. She learned to play the piano, flute, and clarinet, and also played basketball and hockey. Mary attended elementary school in Clear Lake near Houston, Texas, where her father was working at the time. From 1978 to 1982, upon returning to Hobart, she transferred to Waimea Heights School. Mary also graduated from Hobart College.

From 1989 to 1994, Mary Donaldson studied at the University of Tasmania, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Law. From 1994 to 1996, she pursued additional education in advertising and marketing research. In 1996, Mary worked as a managing director at "Mojo Partners." In 1998, six months after her mother's death, she resigned and traveled first to America and later to Europe.

Career and Charitable Work
In early 1999, Mary was appointed as a client service director at the international advertising agency "Young & Rubicam" in Sydney. In June 2000, she moved to another Australian agency called "Love Branding," and later she became the head of sales and a member of the management team at "Belle Property," a real estate company specializing in luxury properties.

In the first half of 2002, Mary taught English at the "Business School" in Paris and then relocated to Copenhagen, Denmark. There, she was invited by Microsoft Business Solutions as a consultant for a business development, communication, and marketing project. Mary's native language is English, and Danish is her second language. She studied French during her school years.
Aside from her professional career, Mary actively engages in charitable work.
