Rise to Stardom

Born in the industrial city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, Mariia Goiya's destiny as a performer was evident from an early age. Nurturing her talent, she graced the stage from childhood, participating in various competitions. Her accolades include winning the "Chornomorski Ihry" (Black Sea Games), "San Remo," and "Vostochnyi Bazar" festivals, among others.

Musical Education and Career

Goiya completed a bachelor's degree in piano from a music school. Despite pursuing legal studies at the Odessa National Law Academy for a year, she ultimately followed her passion to Kyiv, where she graduated from the Kyiv Variety and Circus Academy, specializing in music. Before venturing into a solo career, she was part of the band SMS.

Collaboration with Yuri Falesa

A turning point came in 2009 when Goiya collaborated with prominent producer Yuri Falesa, former producer of Ani Lorak. Together, they launched her solo career, releasing her debut music video, "Lyubov-Marihuana." This marked the beginning of her journey as an established artist.

"Fabrika Zirok" and "Golos"

Goiya's talent continued to shine on stage in 2011, when she participated in the fourth season of the Ukrainian reality show "Fabrika Zirok," finishing in 15th place. The following year, she made a significant impact on the Russian singing competition "Golos." She impressed the judges during the blind auditions with her rendition of the "Diva Plavalaguna" aria from "The Fifth Element." Goiya's victories in the subsequent vocal battles propelled her to the quarterfinal. During the live shows, she touched audiences with her heartfelt performance of the Ukrainian folk song "Oi Ne Miy, Misyachenku."

Humanitarian Efforts and Beyond

In August 2014, Goiya joined forces with renowned musician Andrei Makarevich and others for a charity concert in support of refugees from the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Eurovision Controversy

In the fall of 2014, Goiya and her producer announced that she would represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. However, the news turned out to be false, leaving her fans disappointed.
