Biography of Matthew Marsden
Matthew Marsden was born in 1973 in Walsall, United Kingdom. After his father left the family when he was 10 years old, Matthew and his sister lived with their mother. He was torn between music, playing drums in a local band during his school years, and football, although he ultimately decided to pursue a career in acting. He soon joined the National Youth Theatre, but his passion for music never waned. He released several successful singles and his album titled 'Say Who' was released in 1999.

Early Career
During his education, Matthew Marsden received training in both drama and music. He also explored other roles, working as a shoe salesman for his uncle at the 'Birmingham Market' and as a model due to his good looks and height (189 cm). He had a few successful projects as a model, including advertisements for 'Vimto' and 'Impulse'.

Acting Career
Matthew Marsden's acting career began with British TV series such as 'Coronation Street' and 'Emmerdale Farm'. He became known in the UK for his role as mechanic Chris Collins in 'Coronation Street'. In the United States, where he soon moved, Marsden gained recognition for his film roles rather than soap operas. His American film debut in Ridley Scott's war action film 'Black Hawk Down' was a breakthrough, leading to future opportunities. He was then cast in films such as 'Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid' by Dwight H. Little, 'Tamara' by Jeremy Haft, and 'DOA: Dead or Alive' by Corey Yuen. One of his most well-known films is the sci-fi action film 'Resident Evil: Extinction' directed by Russell Mulcahy, released in 2007. Marsden starred alongside Milla Jovovich, and the film's unique story and special effects helped restore the franchise's reputation after a disappointing second installment.

Recent Work
In 2008, Matthew Marsden was cast in director Michael Bay's film 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'. He played the role of Graham, a British Special Forces officer who joins the Autobots in their fight against the Decepticons. Marsden described his character as a realistic portrayal of a simple soldier, drawing inspiration from real life and stories from friends who served in the military. Another breakthrough in 2008 was his role in Sylvester Stallone's 'Rambo IV'. The action film received positive reviews for its classic genre elements and the performances of Marsden and co-star Julie Benz.

Personal Life
Since 2005, Matthew Marsden has been married to ballerina Nadine Micallef, and they have a son. The family resides in Los Angeles. Prior to his marriage, Marsden had a long-term relationship with Rachel John, with whom he also has a son. Marsden has been linked to several other women throughout his career, which is not surprising considering his good looks and success as an actor.
