American police officer Matthew Schindler
The death of 39-year-old Matthew Schindler, a police officer and father of three, has deeply shocked his family and loved ones. The exact reasons for Matthew's decision to end his life are still unknown, and at the moment, his widow and former supervisor present two completely opposite versions of events. The misuse of a position of authority for personal gain is unfortunately a prevalent crime, with one of its most unpleasant forms being sexual harassment towards subordinates. It is commonly believed that this behavior is predominantly exhibited by male leaders; however, there have been cases where female supervisors have been accused of misconduct towards their employees. In fact, a female supervisor became one of the main figures in the case of the suicide of a New York police officer. According to the late officer's widow, it was due to the sexual harassment by his supervisor that he took his own life.

Biography of Matthew Schindler
Matthew Schindler, a 39-year-old police officer and father of three, tragically passed away, leaving his family and loved ones devastated. The exact reasons behind Matthew's decision to end his life remain unknown, with his widow and former supervisor presenting conflicting versions of events. Gina Schindler filed a lawsuit against the New York Police Department as a whole and Officer Christine Hirtzel in particular, accusing her late husband's supervisor of misusing her position for personal gain and committing sexual harassment. Gina claims that Hirtzel forced Matthew into an intimate relationship, threatening to assign him extremely inconvenient work schedules if he refused. According to Gina, the problems Matthew faced did not end with work schedules; she alleges that Hirtzel promised him a series of serious issues. The consequences for Matthew if he resisted Hirtzel's advances would include unpleasant assignments, difficult working conditions, and limited career prospects.
The ill-fated romance between Matthew and Hirtzel lasted from March 2011 until Matthew's death. Hirtzel tells a completely different story, acknowledging the romantic relationship but stating that it began with mutual consent and ended at her own initiative. Furthermore, Hirtzel claims that the breakup was the trigger for Matthew's suicide, as he allegedly could not cope with the separation. Matthew even attempted to intimidate Hirtzel by threatening to take his own life if their relationship was not rekindled, but she did not take these threats seriously. In an attempt to protect herself from further harassment, Hirtzel reported the situation to her superiors, but they were unable to take action in time. The breakup between Hirtzel and Matthew occurred on February 13th, and on the same day, Hirtzel contacted her captain at the local precinct. The authorities tried to reach out to Matthew to clarify the situation and understand what had happened, but it was too late. On his way home, Matthew took his own life by shooting himself in the head inside his patrol car.
Following Matthew Schindler's death, his wife will have to raise their three children alone, including twin five-year-old girls. In the lawsuit filed by Gina, it is claimed that her late husband simply could not withstand the pressure he faced, which led him to live a secret double life and maintain an unpleasant affair, ultimately resulting in this tragic outcome.
Currently, neither the official representatives of the city authorities nor Mrs. Schindler's attorney have made any comments regarding the situation. According to available information, Christine Hirtzel has been declared innocent of all charges brought against her. However, it is possible that Gina Schindler will not be satisfied with this outcome and may pursue further actions.
