Maurice Gibb, a British rock musician and member of the band "Bee Gees," gained fame as part of the legendary British group Bee Gees, which he founded with his two brothers, Robin Gibb and Barry Gibb. He was considered one of the calmest members of the group. His ability to stay calm in any situation was an important foundation for the existence of Bee Gees, as his two other brothers, Robin and Barry, were much more ambitious and loud personalities.
Early Life
Maurice Gibb was born on December 22, 1949, in Douglas, Isle of Man, United Kingdom. Maurice is the twin brother of Robin Gibb, who is 25 minutes older than him. Robin and Maurice do not resemble each other because they are fraternal twins. In addition to them, the family had three more children - sister Leslie and brothers Barry and Andy. In 1958, the family moved to Australia, where the brothers formed the famous group.
Rise to Fame
Initially, they played in the rock style and were quite popular. In 1966, the Gibb brothers returned to England, where they solidified their popularity as rock musicians. However, by the beginning of the 1970s, their songs ceased to be popular, and to the surprise of critics and fans, the Gibbs decided to transition to the "pop-disco" style. In the 1970s, they became the main suppliers of hits for discotheques and sold a total of 200 million copies of their albums.

Maurice Gibb often remained in the shadow of his two other brothers. In the band, he was responsible for arrangements and recording instrumental parts. For this, he mastered many musical instruments, from bass guitar to piano. Much of the distinctive instrumental sound in Bee Gees came from Maurice Gibb. His first marriage to Scottish pop singer Lulu lasted from 1969 to 1973. They divorced because they could not have children. At one point, he even had a paintball equipment store. He died in 2003 from a twisted intestine. After his death, his brothers Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb officially announced the breakup of the Bee Gees.
