Biography of Blixa Bargeld
Blixa Bargeld is a German musician, singer, poet, and actor. He is best known as the leader, founder, and lyricist of the band Einstürzende Neubauten and a former guitarist of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Born and raised in West Berlin, Bargeld dropped out of school and was involved in local punk bands before the formation of Einstürzende Neubauten.

Early Life and Career
Little is known about Bargeld's life before 1980. He grew up in West Berlin and left school early. In the early 1980s, he opened a small music store where he also lived. In 1980, Bargeld founded the band Einstürzende Neubauten, which has released numerous albums and singles, performed worldwide, and continues to exist to this day.

From 1983 onwards, Bargeld collaborated with Nick Cave. He first joined the group The Birthday Party before becoming the guitarist and backing vocalist for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from 1984 to 2003. One of their notable collaborations is the song "Weeping Song," a duet between Nick Cave and Blixa Bargeld. Bargeld also famously covered Kylie Minogue's part in "Where The Wild Roses Grow" during live performances.
Solo Career and Artistic Style
Starting in the mid-1990s, Bargeld began giving solo performances in the genre of spoken word, known as Rede/Speech Performances. These shows often feature his collaboration with sound engineer Boris Wilsdorf from Einstürzende Neubauten, using microphones, sound effects, and sample overlays while speaking in English or German. His performances include unique acts like vocalizing the creation of an angel's DNA and parodying techno compositions.
Unique Voice and Personal Life
Bargeld is known for his unique voice, particularly his animalistic screams and cries. He showcases this vocal style in Einstürzende Neubauten albums, live concerts, and even in the famous film "The Mummy," where he provided the roaring voice for the mummy.
Blixa Bargeld and his wife, Erin Zhu, a Chinese woman considerably younger than him, reside in San Francisco (USA), Beijing (China), and Berlin (Germany). In a surprising turn, Bargeld appeared on a popular German cooking show called "Alfredissimo!" in 1994, where he prepared risotto.
