Biography of Mackenzie Westmore
Mackenzie Kate Westmore, an American film and television actress, was born on April 26, 1977, in San Fernando, California. She is the third child of Michael and Marion Westmore.
Early Career
Mackenzie made her first appearance on screen in 1980, thanks to Robert De Niro. Her father worked as a makeup artist on the set of the Oscar-winning film "Raging Bull," in which De Niro played the lead role of boxer Jake LaMotta. De Niro was so impressed with three-year-old Mackenzie that he convinced the director to cast her as his character's daughter. The film turned out to be highly successful, receiving five Academy Awards.
Despite her early success, Mackenzie grew up shy. Her parents tried to help her by enrolling her in a music school and acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre. She also studied opera at a musical school. As an opera singer, she appeared in productions such as "Dido & Aneas," "The Sound of Music," and "Little Shop of Horrors."
Television and Film Career
After completing her studies, Mackenzie landed small roles in the film "Star Trek: The Next Generation" in 1987, the comedy series "Weird Science" and "Friends," the sci-fi series "Star Trek: Voyager," and the sci-fi thriller "Star Trek: Insurrection." In the sci-fi adventure action film "Star Trek: The Next Generation," where she played the character Ro Laren, Mackenzie worked alongside Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, and Marina Sirtis. In the next film about the adventures of the heroic crew of the Enterprise, "Star Trek: Insurrection," Mackenzie portrayed a resident of the beautiful planet Ba'ku. Mackenzie's most famous role is considered to be Gwen in the drama series "Passions." Westmore fought hard for this role and received the news of her casting on her birthday. Two days later, the actress flew to Paris, where the series was being filmed. During the filming of the series, Mackenzie met her future husband, Keith Volpone, the leader of the band "Seven." According to Mackenzie and Keith, it was love at first sight, and on May 25, 2002, they got married in Las Vegas.
In 2003, Westmore received an invitation to play Abby in the comedy series "Miss Match."
