Médi Benatia
Médi Benatia is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a defender for Italian club Juventus and the Morocco national team.
Early Life and Club Career
Born in France to Moroccan parents, Benatia began his football career at Olympique de Marseille. He later moved to Clermont Foot, where he impressed and caught the attention of Italian club Udinese in 2010. Benatia quickly established himself as one of the most promising center-backs in Serie A.
In 2013, Benatia joined AS Roma, where he made his debut against Livorno in the Serie A opener. The following year, he signed a five-year deal with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for a reported fee of around €30 million.
Juventus
After a loan spell at Juventus in 2016-17, Benatia joined the Bianconeri on a permanent basis in 2017. He has been a key figure in Juventus's success, winning multiple Serie A titles, Coppa Italia titles, and the Supercoppa Italiana.
International Career
Benatia initially represented France at youth level but opted to play for Morocco in 2005. He made his senior international debut in 2008 and has since become a mainstay in the Morocco team. Benatia has captained the side on several occasions and has played in the Africa Cup of Nations.
