Personal Life
Once, a friend invited Mehmet to visit him in Lecce, a small town in southern Italy. Mehmet gladly accepted the invitation and went to buy a train ticket. And that's where he met her. The young people got to know each other. Her name was Caterina Mondgio. It turned out that she, like Mehmet, was also involved in the arts. Caterina is a documentary filmmaker. After their meeting, they couldn't part ways for a long time and spent four days together. They couldn't stop talking, constantly amazed by how much they had in common. It turned out that Caterina and Mehmet always seek the positive where others may despair, that they can immediately sense each other's desires, and understand each other without saying a word.

Later, Mehmet invited Caterina for a boat ride. It turned out that she loved boating. Since then, boating has become their family tradition. Currently, Mehmet regrets that their family has grown with three children and soon the boat will become too small. In Mehmet and Caterina's family, they are raising two little daughters and an older son. In 2006, this chance encounter and the ignited love led to marriage. Mehmet and Caterina got married. Immediately after the wedding, the newlyweds settled in Lecce. Caterina was in her seventh month of pregnancy and needed fresh air and a calm, measured life. Mehmet considers Lecce a magical place, perhaps because it was here that the fateful meeting happened for him. The actor and father of the family is thrilled with the unity with nature that he experiences in southern Italy. Their eldest son, Ali, is a schoolboy, so most of the year, the couple spends time with their children in Rome, where the boy goes to school. When it's time for vacation, the entire family of Mehmet Günsür heads to southern Italy, to their hometown of Lecce, with singing roosters, dogs, and cats, olive and orange trees. Mehmet Günsür doesn't like publicity. He is very unhappy that his private photos appear in magazines and on the internet without his knowledge. Recently, his wife Caterina was secretly photographed with their youngest child. These photos were displayed for public view. Mehmet Günsür expressed his dissatisfaction with this situation as he prefers his personal life not to be rudely invaded.
