Melvin Dimas Rodriguez, known as Mel Rodriguez, is an American actor born in Miami, Florida. He graduated from SUNY Purchase and made his first appearances on television in the late 1990s, playing minor roles in TV series. During this time, Rodriguez could be seen in projects such as "Law & Order," "Third Watch," "Malcolm in the Middle," and several others.

Early Career
In 2000, Rodriguez made his debut on the big screen in the comedy film "Whiteboys," directed by Eric Meza, although his role was very small. The year 2002 proved to be a successful and busy year for him, as he appeared in four feature films, excluding TV series. His most notable roles during this time were in David Fincher's "Panic Room" and Scott Kalvert's "Deuces Wild." Rodriguez also made a brief appearance in Tom Dey's renowned film "Showtime," starring Eddie Murphy and Robert De Niro, although his character was not even mentioned in the credits.

Breakthrough and Recent Works
In 2004, Rodriguez appeared in Steven Spielberg's film "The Terminal," alongside Tom Hanks. In the same year, he also had a small role as a security guard in the family film "Garfield," directed by Peter Hewitt. The following year, Rodriguez worked under Tommy Lee Jones in the crime drama "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," where Jones cast himself in the lead role. Later, he also appeared in two short films by James Widdoes and Nicolas McCarthy.
