Melanie Ruth Blatt, born on March 25, 1975, is a British singer and actress. She is best known as a member of the popular British group 'All Saints'. However, after the group disbanded, she began her solo career.

Early Life and Family
Melanie, also known as Mel Blatt, was born and raised in the Camden district of London. She was named after the American singer Melanie Safka. Her mother is French, and her father is an English Jew with roots in Poland and Russia. Melanie also has a younger sister named Jasmine. She grew up in both England and France.

Musical Talent and Education
At a young age, Melanie discovered her musical talent. Her teacher recognized her potential and sent her to a performing arts school. By 1986, she was already attending a specialized theater school, where she became friends with Nicole Appleton. During this time, Melanie actively participated in stage performances, including playing the role of Eponine in a local production of 'Les Misérables' and preparing for the role of Cosette alongside her classmate Denise Van Outen.

Early Musical Career
In 1993, Melanie began her career as a singer. She initially performed under the pseudonym 'Melanie Guillaume' in the group 'Drive' with Julian Davis.
