Early Life and Family
Melanie, also known as Mel Blatt, was born and raised in the Camden district of London. She was named after the American singer Melanie Safka. Her mother is French, and her father is an English Jew with roots in Poland and Russia. Melanie also has a younger sister named Jasmine. She grew up in both England and France.

Musical Talent and Education
At a young age, Melanie discovered her musical talent. Her teacher recognized her potential and sent her to a performing arts school. By 1986, she was already attending a specialized theater school, where she became friends with Nicole Appleton. During this time, Melanie actively participated in stage performances, including playing the role of Eponine in a local production of 'Les Misérables' and preparing for the role of Cosette alongside her classmate Denise Van Outen.

Early Musical Career
In 1993, Melanie began her career as a singer. She initially performed under the pseudonym 'Melanie Guillaume' in the group 'Drive' with Julian Davis. During this time, she also provided backing vocals for the band 'Dreadzone', where her old acquaintance Denise Van Outen was already performing. In the same year, Melanie met Shaznay Lewis and together with Simona Rainford formed the group 'All Saints 1.9.7.5'. Later, Nicole and Natalie Appleton joined the group, and Rainford left. The rebranded group became known as 'All Saints'.

Solo Career and Reunion
After the disbandment of 'All Saints' in 2001, Melanie embarked on a solo career. She achieved moderate success, with her single 'TwentyFourSeven' reaching the sixth position on the UK charts. On January 24, 2006, it was announced that 'All Saints' would reunite. To commemorate this, Melanie recorded a new song. It is speculated that they are currently working on a new album, although few details about this project have been made public.
