Early Life and Military Service

Born in Jerusalem, Menachem Ben-Sasson served in the Israeli Defense Forces as part of the Nahal Brigade in Kibbutz Ein Tzurim and later in the artillery corps.

Academic Career

- Earned degrees in Jewish history and Jewish philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1973-1975).

- Completed his doctorate in Jewish history and Islamic studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1976-1982).
