Early Career and Breakthrough

Born in Italy, Mikael Aggazzi began his football journey at Atalanta before making his professional debut in 2004 with Südtirol. Despite reaching the Serie C1 playoffs that season, Südtirol ultimately lost to Cremonese.

Loan Spells and Establishment at Triestina

Aggazzi then went on loan stints to Triestina, Sassuolo, and Foggia. However, it was at Triestina during the 2008/2009 season that he established himself as a regular starter, making 42 appearances for the club.

Transfer to Cagliari and Serie A Debut

In July 2009, Cagliari signed half of Aggazzi's contract, initially loaning him back to Triestina for a season. However, injuries to Cagliari's other goalkeepers prompted his recall in January. On February 7, 2010, Aggazzi made his Serie A debut against Inter Milan, although Cagliari unfortunately lost 0-3. He would make three more appearances that season.

Establishing Himself as Cagliari's Main Goalkeeper

With the departure of Federico Marchetti in the summer, Aggazzi was declared Cagliari's first-choice goalkeeper. He cemented his position as a reliable and consistent performer for the Sardinian club over the following years.
