Lieutenant General, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor
Mykola Avtonomovych Morozov was born on November 21, 1934, in the village of Kharleevka, now part of the Korsakovsky district of the Oryol Region, Russia. He is a Lieutenant General, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Honorary Doctor of Kharkov National University.
Education
Morozov received his initial education at the Zadonsk Technical College of Mechanization and Electrification from September 1949. From September 1953, he became a cadet at the Saratov Tank School.
Military Service
After completing his military education, Morozov served as head of the control and technical point and deputy commander of a company of combat training tanks at the Oryol Tank School and later in Ulyanovsk. From November 1957, he was deputy commander of a tank company for technical affairs in the 95th Tank Regiment (GDR).
Morozov continued his military career by attending the Malinovsky Academy of Armored Forces from 1959 to 1964. He graduated as a military engineer-electromechanic specializing in "electronics and automation of tanks."
Career in Defense Industry
Following his military service, Morozov worked as a military representative at the Chelyabinsk production association "Elektromashina." In 1974, he became head and chief designer of the Chelyabinsk Design Bureau "Rotor." Since 1990, he has served as head and general designer of the Kharkov Design Bureau for Machine Building named after A.A. Morozov.
Academic Achievements
Morozov defended his dissertation in 1976, earning a doctorate in technical sciences. In 1993, he obtained a higher doctoral degree. He is the author of around 200 scientific papers, including 5 monographs, and has 70 inventions to his credit.
Honors and Awards
Morozov has received numerous honors and awards, including the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1976), the Order of the October Revolution (1986), the Lenin Prize (1990), the Order "For Merits" (1997), the Hero of Ukraine (2000), and the State Prize of Ukraine (1996, 2004).
Family
Morozov married Alevtina Ivanovna in 1936. They have two sons, Sergey (born 1959) and Mikhail (born 1969).
