Michael Jameson and His Domestic Tigers
Michael Jameson, a resident of Brakpan, Johannesburg, is the proud owner of not one, but two pet tigers: Enzo and Ozzy. While domestic cats are known for their independent nature, Jameson's feline companions pose a unique set of challenges.
Enzo, the Curious Cat
At two years old, Enzo weighs an astonishing 171 kilograms (377 pounds) and consumes 5 kilograms (11 pounds) of meat daily. Despite his massive size, Enzo retains an endearing feline charm. Each morning, he enjoys a bottle of milk before settling into his favorite spot on the family bed or lounging in a comfy chair.
Playtime with the Predator
Interactive sessions with Enzo are a mix of danger and delight. Even playful swipes can leave deep scratches, and a single bite from his powerful jaws could inflict serious injury. However, Jameson accepts these risks as part of the extraordinary experience of owning a tiger.
Ozzy, the Neglected Cat
Ozzy, the seven-month-old Siberian tiger, came to Jameson's home after being underfed by his previous owners. As a result, his legs and feet have yet to fully recover. Jameson is determined to provide Ozzy with the proper medical care he needs.
Confined to the Home
In the past, Jameson and his partner, Jackie Smit, enjoyed taking Enzo out into nature. However, the tiger has outgrown their Lamborghini, confining him largely to the house. He now has a small outdoor enclosure, but it is just a temporary measure.
New Perspectives
As Ozzy matures, Jameson plans to gradually transition both tigers outdoors. For now, Enzo relishes his status as a pampered house pet. However, Jameson knows that keeping two tigers in the home is not a permanent solution.
