Early Career

Andrei Osipov began his football career with Uralets Nizhny Tagil and moved to Uralmash Yekaterinburg in the Russian Top Division. He made his debut in 1996 and played in 33 of 34 league matches that season.

Domestic Success

After Uralmash's relegation, Osipov joined Rotor Volgograd in 1997. He briefly played for Roda JC Kerkrade and Maccabi Tel Aviv before returning to Rotor. In 2001, he moved to Rostov on Don, where he played from 2001 to 2009. Osipov captained Rostov for five seasons and became a fan favorite for his loyalty, despite the team's relegation in 2007. He helped Rostov return to the top division in 2008.

Record-Setting Achievements

Osipov holds the record for most Russian Premier League appearances for Rostov (183). In total, he played in 308 Russian Premier League matches (13th all-time) and scored 45 goals.

Other Notable Milestones

- 1990s: Appeared for the Russian U-21 team
- 2002/03: Reached the Russian Cup final with Rostov

- 2006: Top scorer for Rostov in the Russian Premier League (12 goals)

- 2008: Named as the Best Player and Best Midfielder in the Russian First Division

Later Career

After leaving Rostov in 2009, Osipov played for FC Ural Yekaterinburg. In 2011, he scored the fastest goal in the history of the Russian First Division (2 seconds). Osipov retired from professional football in 2012. He continued to play in local leagues and futsal until 2013. His son, Mikhail, is also a footballer.
