Early Life and Career
Sergey Nazarenko, born in Ukraine, began his footballing journey as a youth player for DYuSSh Zvezda in Kirovohrad. In 1997, he joined the reserve team of Dnіpro and made his debut for the senior team in 1999.
Dnipro Years
Nazarenko spent 13 years with Dnіpro, making a significant contribution to the team's success. He played a crucial role in the club's midfield, earning him a call-up to the Ukrainian national team in 2003.
Joining Tavriya
In 2011, Nazarenko moved to Tavriya Simferopol, where he reunited with former teammates Vladimir Yezersky and Maksym Kalynychenko. He made his debut for the team in the first match of the 2011/12 season, scoring a goal against Zorya Luhansk.
Financial Crisis and Departure
In 2014, Tavriya faced a financial crisis, leading to Nazarenko's departure as a free agent. He subsequently joined Chornomorets Odesa, where he played for half a season before terminating his contract.
100th Goal and Club Membership
In 2015, while playing for Metalist Kharkiv, Nazarenko achieved a remarkable milestone by scoring his 100th goal in official matches for Ukrainian clubs and the national team. This feat earned him membership in the Oleg Blokhin and Timerlan Guseynov Clubs.
Return to Dnipro
In February 2016, Nazarenko returned to Dnіpro, where he played his first match in March. He departed again as a free agent in January 2017.
Coaching Career
Following his retirement, Nazarenko embarked on a coaching career. He joined the coaching staff of Dnіpro's youth team in March 2017. In July, he became assistant coach of the first team under Alexander Poklonsky.
Amateur Football and Transition
In August 2017, Nazarenko was included in Dnіpro's squad for the amateur Ukrainian championship. He has continued to pursue his coaching ambitions, contributing to the development of young footballers.
