Early Life and EducationMichael Butler Yeats was born into a prominent Irish family. His father, William Butler Yeats, was a renowned poet and senator. Michael received his education at Trinity College Dublin, an esteemed institution known for its academic excellence.
Military Service and Early Political Career
Following his studies, Yeats embarked on a military career, serving as an officer in the Irish Army Reserves. In 1951, he entered politics and was elected to the Irish Senate, serving until 1954. After a brief hiatus, he returned to the Senate in 1961 and remained a member until 1981.
Chairmanship of the Seanad
