Early Career and North American JourneyMichal Birner, a Czech left-wing hockey player, embarked on his career in North America in 2004 by joining the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After several seasons in the OHL, he returned to Europe and signed with TPS Turku in Finland.
Success in Finland: TPS Turku
During his three seasons with TPS Turku from 2009 to 2012, Birner made a significant impact. He participated in 166 games, amassing an impressive 87 points (30 goals, 57 assists). Among his achievements with TPS Turku was the SM-Liiga championship title in the 2009/2010 season.
