A Move to Madrid and the Birth of an Artistic Career

In 2002, De Campo relocated to the vibrant city of Madrid, where he embarked on his journey as a professional artist. Inspired by the urban landscape, he honed his unique style of staged realism.

Staged Street Realism: De Campo as Director and Painter

De Campo's paintings are meticulous recreations of staged scenes, captured through photography. By directing his subjects, he becomes both a director and a painter, carefully orchestrating the narrative and composition.

The Absence of Celestial Bodies and the Luminosity of Southern Italy

A striking feature of De Campo's work is the absence of the sun. Yet, despite this, his paintings exude an ethereal luminosity. This reflects the vibrant colors and warm light of his native Italy, which infuses his art with a sense of idyllic radiance.
