Early Career and NBA Draft

Michaël Gelabale began his professional basketball career in 2001 with the French club Cholet Basket. In 2004, he moved to Spain and joined Real Madrid. Gelabale was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the second round of the 2005 NBA Draft with the 48th overall pick.

NBA Journey

After spending another year with Real Madrid, Gelabale signed a two-year contract with the Seattle SuperSonics in July 2006. In March 2009, he was assigned to the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League. However, he returned to Cholet in October 2009.

European Clubs

In July 2010, Gelabale joined ASVEL Basket. He then moved to Spirou Charleroi in August 2011, but his contract was indefinitely postponed due to an injury. In January 2012, he signed with Khimki Moscow Region for the remainder of the season.

Croatian and NBA Stints

During the 2012-2013 season, Gelabale played for the Croatian club Cedevita Zagreb. In 2013, he signed a 10-day contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gelabale's contract was extended for another 10 days on January 29, 2013. He eventually remained with Minnesota until the end of the season on February 8, 2013.

Return to France

After his NBA stint, Gelabale signed with Strasbourg IG in November 2014. He subsequently joined Limoges CSP in January 2015.

International Career

Michaël Gelabale has played for the French national team since 2005.
