Miguel Vicent Rosenberg-Sapochnik was born on a July day in 1974, in Hammersmith, London. His parents, of Jewish descent, had fled to the United Kingdom in 1969 amidst political turmoil in Argentina. His paternal lineage traces back to Moldova, while his maternal side has Polish roots.

Filmmaking Beginnings

Sapochnik's early projects in the mid-1990s included storyboard work on the crime drama "Trainspotting" and Alan Rickman's directorial debut "The Winter Guest." He first took the director's chair in 1999 with a music video for The Charlatans' "My Beautiful Friend." Sapochnik became a regular director and writer for short films, music videos, and television series from 2000 onward, and ventured into producing in 2010.
