Erik Edman: A Swedish Football Star
Early CareerErik Edman, a Swedish defender, began his football journey in his hometown club, Lidingsö. In 1998, he joined the second division club Djurgården.
Djurgården's Rise and Fall
Under Edman's tenure, Djurgården earned promotion to Sweden's top-flight league in 1999. However, their stay was short-lived as they finished last the following season. Undeterred, they regained promotion in 2000 and sensationally finished second in 2001.
Triumphant Years and League Titles
In 2002 and 2003, Edman and Djurgården claimed back-to-back Swedish league titles. They also secured a domestic double in 2002 by winning the Swedish Cup.
International Experience
Edman represented the Swedish national team throughout his career.European Journeys
In 2003, Edman moved to France with Strasbourg. A year later, he joined Norwegian giants Rosenborg. In December 2007, he signed for Romanian club CFR Cluj, where he achieved his second career double. He later returned to Rosenborg in August 2008.
