Early Life and Beginnings
Mike Bordin, renowned American drummer and rock musician, first picked up the sticks at the age of 14 alongside his friend, Metallica's Cliff Burton. During the late 1970s, while still in high school, Bordin played in the band EZ-Street with Burton and future Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin.
Faith No More
In 1981, Bordin co-founded the band Faith No Man, which later evolved into Faith No More in 1982. With Bordin on drums, Faith No More released their debut album, "We Care a Lot," in 1985. The band went on to record five more studio albums, including the Grammy-nominated "The Real Thing," before disbanding in 1998. Faith No More reunited in 2009 for a series of European concerts.
Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath
Bordin joined Ozzy Osbourne's band in 1996 and began performing live with him. In 1997, after Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward experienced health issues during a tour, Bordin stepped in to play several shows with the legendary band. He also re-recorded the drum tracks for Osbourne's solo albums "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman," which were re-released in 2002.
Other Projects
In 2000, Bordin briefly played with KoЯn as a substitute for David Silveria. He also contributed to Jerry Cantrell's 2002 album "Degradation Trip."
