Political Career
Michal Cotler-Wunsch is an Israeli politician who serves as a member of the 21st Knesset for the Blue and White party.
Early Life and Military Service
Cotler-Wunsch was born in Tel Aviv to a father who immigrated from Romania and a mother from Turkey. She served in the Israel Defense Forces and later worked as a flight attendant for El Al.
Journalism Career
Cotler-Wunsch established herself as a journalist and news anchor on Israeli television. She presented the main newscast on Channel 10 and produced several documentaries, including "On Weight" (on the global and Israeli obesity epidemic), "The Eighth Wonder" (on the impact of mobile phones), and "My Dear Mother" (a special episode in August 2009 featuring women who adhered to a traditional motherhood role).
In December 2013, she joined Channel 2, where she hosted an investigative news program. Her investigations focused on issues such as social welfare, pensions, subcontracting, and public housing.
Political Activism and Meat Reduction
In the 2010s, Cotler-Wunsch became an advocate for reducing meat consumption.
Entry into Politics
On February 7, 2019, Cotler-Wunsch announced her candidacy for the Knesset as part of the Blue and White coalition led by Benny Gantz.
