Early Career and Junior Success

Born on August 22, 1987, in Moscow, Soviet Union, Zverev relocated to Germany with his family in 1991 after his father secured a coaching position at a tennis club. As a junior, Zverev enjoyed considerable success, peaking as the world's No. 3 junior. In 2004, he reached the semifinals of the US Open (lost to Andy Murray), the quarterfinals of Roland Garros (lost to Alex Kuznetsov), and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (lost to Novak Djokovic).
