Origins and Early Days

In the heart of Kostroma, a group of aspiring musicians embarked on a musical journey in 1999. Seeking a creative outlet, they began jamming in a dilapidated garage, experimenting with their first original compositions. Despite the lack of proper equipment, they persevered, driven by their passion for music.

Establishing an Identity

As the garage band grew, it experimented with various names, including "Cherti" and "Bakes Dozen," before settling on "Monticor" in 2000. With a newfound sense of purpose, they secured a rehearsal space at a local enterprise, marking the official inception of the band.

Shaping a Style

Influenced by TRASH and DEATH METAL, Monticor developed a unique musical style. They honed their sound through countless hours of practice, refining their approach and creating a cohesive identity.

Debut Performance and Festival Success

On August 25, 2000, Monticor made their live debut at the "Patriot" Cultural Center alongside Good Spirit. The performance was met with critical acclaim, establishing their presence on the local music scene. Their reputation soared further with their participation in the "Proрыв" festival in 2001 and the "BAIK SHOW" in Ivanovo later that year.

Conservatory Residency and Creative Growth

In 2001, Monticor moved their rehearsal base to the Kostroma Youth Creativity Center. This provided them with a more conducive environment for their musical explorations. They continued to expand their repertoire, collaborating with other musicians and developing their songwriting craft.

Debut Album and Recognition

Through hard work and dedication, Monticor completed their first studio album in 2004. Titled "Maktoob," the album showcased their musical evolution and lyrical depth. It was released at a concert-presentation alongside Lunk Crouft and Good Spirit.

Continued Success and Aspiration

Since the release of "Maktoob," Monticor has remained an active force in the local music scene. They continue to perform live, showcasing their dynamic stage presence and energetic performances. The band is already working on material for their second album, fueled by their unwavering passion for music and the support of their dedicated fans.
