Early Life and EducationEliezer Kuttner was born into a Jewish family in Germany. He received a traditional Jewish education, fostering an early love and appreciation for language and literature.
Move to Berlin and Literary Collaborations
In 1763, Kuttner relocated to Berlin, a vibrant literary hub. There, he struck close friendships with renowned thinkers such as Moses Mendelssohn and Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Together with Karl Wilhelm Ramler, he embarked on a collaborative project to translate the epigrams of Martial.
Poetic Talent and Publications
Kuttner's own poetic abilities were evident in his numerous works. His small poems, characterized by their wit and elegance, showcased his literary talent. In 1792, an anthology of his selected epigrams, odes, fables, and songs was published in Zurich. A second edition was released in Dresden in 1872.
