After completing his education at the prestigious Al Asimah School, Muhammad ibn Fahd pursued his higher studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the United States. He specialized in the field of international relations.

In 1984, at the age of 33, Muhammad ibn Fahd became an assistant to the Minister of Interior.
