Biography of Mzia Savlokhova

Mzia Savlokhova, the widow of the legendary Kiev authority, well-known businessman, and coach Boris Savlokhov, reminisces about how her husband was targeted by a grenade launcher and how famous artists Anna Veski and Buba Kikabidze helped him out of the police. Mzia Savlokhova previously told "Segodnya" about the arrest, conviction, and eventual death of her husband Boris Savlokhov in the colony from a heart attack. His widow strongly disagrees with this - she believes that her husband was innocent and was imprisoned by the police along with real criminals, against whom Boris, as she says, always fought.

Early Life and Marriage

Mzia Savlokhova was born in a small village called Elkhotovo near Vladikavkaz. She is of Ossetian and Georgian descent. In 1979, she visited her relatives in Ossetia and that's when she met Boris Savlokhov. It was love at first sight. After she returned home, Boris would write and call her, sending postcards and gifts from every city he visited for competitions. They got married in Kiev and lived in a one-room apartment while Boris fought for the army club. Starting from 1985, Boris began coaching others. He was a beloved figure and always stood up for ordinary people. Only now do I realize whom he had to fight against. And now I understand why they got rid of him.

Attempts on Boris' Life

Mzia recalls the incident when someone tried to kill Boris. A woman who was going through a divorce sought Boris' help, while her husband sought the help of a Georgian thief named Dato. The police helped the thief, according to Mzia, because Boris was interfering with their plans. Hired killers first shot at several cars, one of which Boris was in. Then they fired a grenade launcher at his car, but it failed and the killer lost his hand and bled to death. The killers managed to escape. Mzia believes that someone found it beneficial for Boris to be eliminated.

Famous Artists Help

Mzia shares an incident when Boris was arrested by the police. They were planning to attend a concert at the Ukraine Palace where their friends were performing. Boris called Mzia from a hair salon and said he would get a haircut and then join her. She conveyed this information to Joseph Kobzon, who then called her back and asked if they were going to the concert. Mzia confirmed and mentioned that Boris was getting a haircut. Later, their friends informed Mzia that Boris had been taken to the police station directly from the hair salon. Victoria, a friend and director of the Ukraine Palace, called Mzia and asked about the situation. Mzia explained the situation and Victoria decided to announce that Boris Savlokhov, the general sponsor of the concert, was present in the audience to avoid any negative press. Anna Veski and Buba Kikabidze were with Mzia in the police station, not going to the police authorities as some rumors suggested.

Business and Controversies

Mzia confirms that Boris owned a casino called "Joss" and "Split". They even opened a branch in Moscow. Boris provided employment to many people, thinking they were his team and friends. However, when he faced trouble, they sold him out. Only one investor from the Baltic region remained loyal and demanded his investment back. Mzia reveals that after Boris was imprisoned, she lost everything related to the gambling business. She met her former friends in the airport, but they pretended not to recognize her. It seems like they were ashamed to look her in the eye.

Life After Boris' Death

After Boris' death, Mzia went through a difficult period of depression for two years. She spent almost all her time at the cemetery and considered moving to Russia. However, her friends convinced her to stay in Ukraine, and she eventually agreed. Mzia has plans and ideas for starting her own business, but she believes that it is impossible to do honest business in the country. She refuses to work under someone's protection and wants to live and work according to her own principles. Currently, Mzia lives with her younger children and hopes to find success in the future.
