From 1980 to 1982, Kulsariev worked as an intern-lecturer at the Department of Urban Planning. In 1981, while teaching at the Architectural and Construction Institute in Almaty, he became the organizer of the KVN (Club of the Merry and Resourceful). During this time, he developed a passion for songwriting.

From 1982 to 1986, he held the positions of Deputy Secretary and Acting Secretary of the Komsomol Committee of the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute named after V. I. Lenin. In 1986, he served as Secretary of the Komsomol Committee of the Almaty United Aviation Squadron. From 1986 to 1989, he pursued his postgraduate studies at the Architectural and Construction Institute.

Music and Production

In 1976, Kulsariev co-founded the group "Ulan" with Yerulan Kanapyanov and Almazhan Akbarov. They performed contemporary, foreign, and Kazakh national songs under the mentorship of Kenes Duisekeev. In 1977, Ulan won the Grand Prix at the Festival of Universities of the Soviet Union, and in 1979, they became laureates of the All-Union Song Festival in Yerevan.

In 1987, Kulsariev initiated and organized the first Festival of Author's Song in Almaty. In 1997, he released his debut music album, "Gran Peremen" ("Edge of Change"), which featured songs primarily written by Alexey Ivashchenko.

Kulsariev actively collaborated with the group "A-Studio," and one of his songs written with lyrics by Ilya Reznik ("Stan Moyey Molitvoy") became part of the group's album "Greshnaya Strast." He also penned patriotic songs such as "Astana" and "Kazakhstan," which were performed by renowned artists such as Roza Rymbaeva, Batyrkhan Shukenov, and Vakhtang Kikabidze.

Under Kulsariev's invitation, renowned musicians and singers visited Almaty, including Oleg Mityaev, Igor Guberman, Alexey Ivashchenko, Alexander Gorodnitsky, Vadim Egorov, the Mishchuk Brothers, Galina Khomchik, Leonid Sergeev, Lydia Cheboksarova, Alexander Mirzayan, and others.

Rock Opera and Festivals

In 2000-2001, Kulsariev produced and directed the rock opera-ballet "Takyr," which explored the tragedy of the Aral Sea.

Since its inception, the "Nasir Kulsariev Festival of Author's Song" has been held every two years in Almaty. The festival aims to support and promote author's song in Central Asia as a form of musical and poetic expression.
