Natalia Antonova: Biography of a Russian Actress
Natalia Sergeevna Antonova is a Russian theater and film actress. She was born on March 12, 1974, in Moscow. Her father served in the military, while her mother was a philology teacher, so art was not initially seen as a viable career path for Natalia. Despite this, she grew up as a lively and playful child, enjoying various active games. Her love for football and games typically played by boys was instilled in her by her older brother.

During her school years, Natalia did not consider a career in acting and instead dreamed of becoming a ballerina. However, due to her weight and her mother's insistence, her childhood dream did not come true. Later, Natalia decided to pursue a career in acting and successfully passed her school exams to enter the Shchukin Theatre Institute. She studied alongside Olga Budina and Elena Zakharova. Natalia then began performing at the Gogol Theater. Some of her notable performances include "The Stranger Child," "Ivanov," and "My Crime." Her own example inspired her sister Svetlana Antonova and cousin Oleg Mosalev to become actors as well.

Natalia Antonova's career started in 1997 after graduating from the theater university. She acted in plays such as "The Faithful Wife," "Ivanov," "Arsenic and Old Lace," and "Lady Blizzard" at the Gogol Theater. Her career in film also developed rapidly. In 1997, she was offered roles in movies such as "My First Teacher," "In the Hazy Youth," "Kamenskaya," "Three Against All," "Autumn Blues," "Gold of Yugra," and "The Hunting Season 2." In the series, she portrayed a determined, intelligent, and sociable girl from a small provincial town who moves to Moscow to start a new life. Following this, Antonova was offered the role of Princess Ekaterina Dolgorukaya, who was the mistress of Alexander II, in the series "The Emperor's Love," based on Valentin Azerin's novel. Despite some difficulties, Natalia brilliantly portrayed the character. She recalls one scene that took six takes due to her struggles with a cumbersome costume. After these roles, Antonova appeared in numerous TV series and films, portraying successful and beautiful women.

In 2012, Antonova gained recognition for her role as investigator Anna Korablin in the series "Freud's Method." The multi-episode detective series tells the story of Anna, who works in a corrupt department and is joined by a talented self-taught detective known as Freud. Warm feelings develop between the main characters, evolving into love. The series starred Ivan Okhlobystin as the charismatic intellectual detective adept at hiding behind a jester's mask. Two years later, a sequel to the series, which received positive feedback from the audience, was released.

In 2014, Antonova appeared in the miniseries "Stronger than Destiny." She played the role of the mother of the main heroine. As her daughter's personal life began to improve, the mother accidentally finds herself in trouble that could result in an eight-year prison sentence. Her daughter manages to save her with the help of several individuals who did not turn away from the family's difficulties.

Natalia Antonova has been married twice. Her first husband was Alexander Vershinin, whom she divorced in 2001. Natalia has a son named Artem from this marriage. Natalia and Nikolai are raising four children, one of whom is from Natalia's first marriage.

In terms of her personal life, Natalia gained a significant amount of weight during her third pregnancy. Her husband's comment about not liking her new appearance prompted her to take action. She initially felt offended but then decided to participate in the show "Ice and Dance." Within a month and a half, she managed to lose the extra weight by skating for at least two hours a day.

Natalia and her husband currently live outside the city. They initially dreamed of owning a country house, and their dream came true when her husband rented a house near Moscow for Natalia to enjoy nature and fresh air during her pregnancy. They now have their own house, although both Natalia and her husband, who are native Muscovites, also own apartments in the city.
