Early Life and Musical InfluencesNatalia Podolskaya was born on May 20, 1982, in Mogilev, Belarus. Her passion for music emerged at a tender age, and she began singing at nine with the group "Studio V." With them, she achieved success at numerous national and international festivals.
Education and Career Beginnings
While pursuing a law degree at the Belarusian Institute of Law (1999-2004), Natalia continued to develop her solo career. She frequented musical shows on Belarusian radio and television, and in 2002 and 2003, she reached the finals of the National Television Festival.
Rise to Fame
In 2002, Natalia relocated to Moscow, Russia, and enrolled in the Moscow Institute of Modern Art. Her big break came the same year at the Vitebsk Festival "Slavonic Bazaar." Following a remarkable performance, she captured the attention of the music industry.
International Recognition and Eurovision
In early 2003, Ryan Lobsher and Michael Jay, Grammy-winning producers and songwriters for Kylie Minogue and Celine Dion, crafted "Unstoppable" exclusively for Natalia. They invited her to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2004. However, Natalia's application to represent any country other than Belarus was denied.
Undeterred, she auditioned for the Russian reality show "Star Factory - 5" in 2004 and made it into the competition. There, she forged a pivotal relationship with composer and producer Viktor Drobysh, who guided her debut album.
Eurovision Success
In February 2005, Natalia entered Russia's Eurovision Song Contest selection with the song "Nobody Hurt No One." Captivating viewers with her artistry, charisma, and vocal finesse, she was chosen to represent Russia at Eurovision 2005 in Kyiv, where she finished in the Top 10.
