Natalya Ragozina is an accomplished Russian boxer, a two-time world champion, a two-time European champion, and holds the remarkable title of being undefeated throughout her 22 boxing matches. Her remarkable achievements have earned her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Childhood and Early Career
Natalya Ragozina was born in Abay, Kazakhstan. Her childhood was marked by a desire to become a flight attendant, but after her first flight, she realized her fear of flying. She then pursued modeling, but that path also proved unsuccessful. Ultimately, she found her calling in sports, particularly track and field. Ragozina excelled in middle-distance running, becoming a champion in both Kazakhstan and Asia.
Transition to Martial Arts
In 1993, Ragozina's life took a dramatic turn when she moved to Nizhny Tagil, where her parents lived. There, she joined a kickboxing club. Despite being initially dismissed due to her slight frame, she persevered and honed her skills. Interestingly, her intensive training led to a growth spurt, and she gained 5 cm in height in just one year. Today, Ragozina stands at 183 cm and weighs 72 kg.
Kickboxing Success
Ragozina's first victory in kickboxing came in 1993. Her potential was recognized by a prominent Moscow sports manager, who invited her to the capital. In the following years, she made significant strides in the sport, earning the title of Honored Master of Sports in Kickboxing in 1998. She was the first Russian woman to achieve this distinction.
Boxing Career
In 1999, Ragozina transitioned to amateur boxing. Over the next few years, she became a two-time world champion in this discipline. She also claimed the European championship title and returned to Russia with the World Cup. Remarkably, throughout her boxing career, she never faced defeat.
Marriage and Personal Life
During her boxing career, Ragozina met her first husband, Mikhail. A martial arts enthusiast himself, Mikhail was a master in hand-to-hand combat. However, their marriage encountered challenges after the birth of their son, Ivan. Mikhail's jealousy and demands for Ragozina to abandon boxing strained their relationship. Following a physical altercation, Ragozina ended the marriage.
Modeling and Acting
While being an elite boxer, Ragozina embraced her feminine side. She became a favorite among modeling agencies and men's magazines, appearing in swimwear, lingerie, and nude shoots. She saw this as a way to promote women's boxing. Ragozina also made her acting debut in 2008 with the sports drama "White Bear," where she played the lead role.
Subsequent Marriages
Ragozina married a second time and enjoyed a harmonious 12-year relationship with her husband, Fedor. However, her passion for a new endeavor eventually led to their separation.
In 2017, Ragozina married Sergey Zhorin, a prominent lawyer in the entertainment industry. Their relationship ended in divorce in 2019 due to differing life values.
Current Endeavors
Today, boxing takes a backseat in Ragozina's life. She now leads the Women's Hockey League and regularly participates in ice hockey, including the Night League, where she shares the ice with renowned players like Vyacheslav Fetisov and Vladimir Putin.
Ragozina also contributes to the "Amazing People" television program as an expert. She imparts her boxing knowledge to children through regular masterclasses.
