Early Life and CareerNatalie Jane Appleton Howlett, known professionally as Natalie Appleton, was born on May 14, 1973, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. She grew up in a family that moved between Toronto, New York City, and London. At the age of 15, Natalie discovered her singing talent while performing at a country club in a popular Jewish vacation spot called Borscht Belt. In 1983, she moved to London to attend the Sylvia Young Theatre School. Natalie gained some recognition in 1986 when she appeared in the TV series "Grange Hill." She later returned to New York City and then moved to Camden, England in 1990.
Formation of All Saints and Scandals
In Camden, Natalie began dating Karl Robinson, a stripper from "The Dreamboys" team whom she had met in London when she was 17. They had a daughter named Rachel and got married in New York in 1993. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 1995. Natalie's father, Kenbuta, met Melanie Blatt, who was studying at the Sylvia Young Theatre School with Natalie's sister, Nicole. Kenbuta heard that Melanie wanted to form a new girl group and was looking for new members. Nicole asked if she and Natalie could join, and together with Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis, they formed the pop band "All Saints."
Appleton and Personal Life
In 2000, Natalie and Nicole appeared in the little-known film "Honest," including some nude scenes. In 2001, "All Saints" disbanded amid a scandal and rumors, having released a total of five number-one singles over five years. Natalie and Nicole then formed a new duo called "Appleton" and released their first single, "Fantasy," in September 2002. Their album, "Everything's Eventual," was released in early 2003, coinciding with the release of their documentary film "Appleton on Appleton," which offered a glimpse into the sisters' lives.
Natalie Appleton married Liam Paris Howlett from the group "The Prodigy" on June 6, 2002, and they have a second child together. In November 2004, Natalie participated in the fourth season of the reality show "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" However, she was not very successful in the show's various competitions and was voted off by the public. "All Saints" reunited in 2006, and on November 13, their third studio album, "Studio 1," was released.
