Early Life and Education:Born in Chelyabinsk, Natalia Kotova embarked on her academic journey at the Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical Institute in 1987. She graduated as a teacher of physics and astronomy and taught at Chelyabinsk School No. 63. Subsequently, she pursued a degree in law at the Ural Academy of Civil Service in 1996.
Career in Public Administration:
In 1994, Kotova transitioned to the Chelyabinsk Regional Committee for State Property Management. She progressed rapidly, becoming a leading specialist and later the head of a department at the territorial agency of the Federal Office for Insolvency (Bankruptcy).
From 1996 to 1999, Kotova served as a leading specialist in the Ural Interregional Territorial Body of the Federal Service for Financial Recovery and Bankruptcy. She then rose to the position of head of a department in the Federal Tax Service Administration for the Chelyabinsk Region until 2001.
Ascendance in Chelyabinsk Municipal Government:
Kotova's involvement in the Chelyabinsk municipal government began in 2005, where she held the position of head of the Housing and Utilities Management Department. Her competence and dedication were recognized, leading to her appointment as the first vice-mayor.
Mayor of Chelyabinsk:
On June 24, 2019, Kotova became acting mayor of Chelyabinsk, succeeding Vladimir Elistratov. Her tenure was marked by unanimous election to the position of Mayor of Chelyabinsk by the city council on November 19, 2019. She officially assumed office the following day.
Family and Personal Life:
Natalia Kotova is a family-oriented individual. She is married and has a daughter and a son. Her brother, Vladimir Kotov, is a former head of the Sosnovsky District in the Chelyabinsk Region.
