Biography of Natasha Henstridge
Natasha Henstridge was born on August 15th in Springdale, Newfoundland, Canada. Her appearance brought joy to her stay-at-home mother and her father, who worked as a car salesman. Growing up in a trailer park in Fort McMurray, Natasha set off to Paris at the age of 14 to pursue a career as a model. While her modeling career in France brought her recognition and fame, Natasha quickly became bored of it and decided to try her hand at acting.
Her debut in the film industry was in the popular sci-fi movie "Species". Her role as Sil, an alien creature in the form of a woman attempting to conceive alien offspring, showcased her modeling skills and helped her create a complex character on screen. Despite her lack of experience, Natasha's performance earned her an MTV Movie Award for "Best Kiss" with her co-star. This film opened doors for her in the acting world, leading to roles in movies such as "Maximum Risk" with Jean-Claude Van Damme and "Adrenalin". She also appeared in the TV series "Third Rock from the Sun" and "The Outer Limits".
In 1998, Natasha's career began to take off as she starred in the sequel to "Species" and appeared in films like "Bela Donna", "Dog Park", "The Whole Nine Yards", and "Ghosts of Mars". She continued to land roles in various films, including "The Whole Ten Yards" and "Species III". Natasha proved that she could successfully transition from a model to an actress, following in the footsteps of other successful models-turned-actresses like Cameron Diaz and Rene Russo.
In addition to her film career, Natasha also ventured into television, starring in the spy comedy series "She Spies" in 2002. Her most recent film role was in the comedy "The Whole Ten Yards" sequel, which will be released soon. Currently, Natasha resides in Los Angeles. She is the proud mother of Tristan River Wait, her son with Liam Waite.
When asked about the challenges of being a mother while building a career in Hollywood, Natasha admits that it is incredibly difficult. She has to spend extended periods of time away from her children due to her work commitments. However, she tries to find a balance between work and family life by engaging in activities like swimming and spending time with her son.
There is often a biased perception towards former models who pursue acting careers, but Natasha believes that there are successful examples like Isabella Rossellini that challenge this stereotype. She left the modeling industry when she moved from Paris to New York and began appearing in commercials. Eventually, she auditioned for the movie "Species" in 1995, which marked her entry into the world of acting.
Natasha attributes her upbringing to her mother and sees many similarities between them emotionally. However, she believes that she resembles her ambitious and strong-willed father more physically. Despite the usual ups and downs in life, including a failed first marriage, Natasha feels fortunate and grateful for the opportunities she has had in her life.
