Early Life and Education
Nat Getty was born in Los Angeles to Ariadne Getty and Justin Williams. He is part of the Getty family and uses the surname professionally. Getty is the grandson of Sir John Paul Getty and his maternal great-grandmother was actress Ann Rork Light. Getty's maternal great-grandfather was Jean Paul Getty, the founder of Getty Oil. His brother is fashion designer August Getty.
He spent his early childhood in Santa Monica, California, and attended The Willows Community School before moving to England at age eight. While living in England, Getty attended boarding school in Oxford. Raised in the Catholic faith, Getty is the godson of Gavin Newsom.
Career
Getty, along with Ariadne and August Getty, have worked to establish new infrastructure for the Los Angeles LGBT Center and work closely with GLAAD. Nat has his own clothing and lifestyle brand called Strike Oil, a nod to the family's oil business.
In 2014, Getty directed and starred in a short film titled "Smoking Alone," a one-minute film of him exhaling cigarette smoke. On July 24, 2017, Getty was interviewed on "Shane and Friends," a podcast series.
Getty arranged for the painting of a mural titled "Mr. Brainwash" to be made in honor of the 49 victims of the 2017 Orlando nightclub shooting and had it displayed in front of the Pulse nightclub. Getty has been signed with Next Management and has modeled for his brother August Getty; August has referred to Nat and his wife Gigi as "his greatest muses."
Nat serves as an advisor to the Ariadne Getty Foundation, which was founded by his mother Ariadne.
Personal Life
Getty began dating Canadian socialite and YouTuber Gigi Lazzarato, also known as Gigi Gorgeous, in 2016 after meeting at the Paris debut of August Getty's collection.
Getty proposed to Lazzarato in March 2018 at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte in France. The couple announced their engagement in a video posted on Lazzarato's YouTube channel. They were married in July 2019 in a private ceremony at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California.
Getty initially came out as transgender non-binary in January 2021 via Instagram, sharing the beginning of his transition, having undergone a double mastectomy. As of May 2021, Getty was still determining what pronouns to use. He publicly came out as a transgender man and changed his pronouns to he/him in June 2021.
