Early Career and Boca Juniors Success (2004-2007)Neri Cardozo, an Argentinian football midfielder, began his professional career at the tender age of 17 when he joined the youth team of Boca Juniors. His debut for the senior team came on February 16, 2004, in a goalless draw against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.
During his four-year spell with Boca Juniors, Cardozo played a pivotal role in the club's impressive trophy haul. He helped the team secure three Argentine Primera División titles, two Copa Sudamericana triumphs, and two Recopa Sudamericana victories. In 2007, he became a key member of the Boca Juniors squad that lifted the prestigious Copa Libertadores for the sixth time in club history.
International Breakthrough with Argentina (2003-2007)
Cardozo's talent was recognized at all levels of the Argentinian national youth teams. In 2003, he represented his country at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, reaching the semi-finals. The same year, he participated in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he was again a semi-finalist and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. In 2005, he was part of the Argentinian squad that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup, although he missed the final match due to suspension.
Senior Debut and Recognition (2007)
Alfio Basile, the Argentinian national team coach, called up Cardozo to the senior squad in 2007. On April 18, he made his debut against Chile, playing for 70 minutes. After the match, Basile praised Cardozo as "a great talent who can become a star for the Argentinian team."
