Arrest and Rehabilitation
In late April, Nicholas Gruber was arrested for assaulting Kelvin Swift, a 20-year-old that Gruber had brought home for questionable reasons. The exact cause of the conflict remains unclear, but the police had to intervene. When the police arrived at the scene at 4 am, they noticed Gruber attempting to hide something. His resistance only worsened his situation. A subsequent search revealed that Gruber had cocaine hidden in his underwear. Gruber sought treatment for his drug addiction at a specialized rehabilitation clinic in Arizona, which was paid for by Calvin Klein. Gruber flew to the clinic on Klein's personal plane.
Legal Consequences
Despite completing rehabilitation, Nicholas Gruber still faced legal consequences for his actions. He pleaded guilty to drug possession and, as part of a previously negotiated agreement with the prosecution, received a relatively lenient punishment. Gruber is required to perform 20 days of community service and abide by the law until at least December. If he fulfills these conditions, his record will be cleared, and the case will be closed.
